Finished Object Alert!

As you can see, my second gloves came out well! And yes there are two of them. Knit with lion brand superwash wool in grey and black. They are super comfey and washable, so I can muck 'em up! And look-DH has a flower in bloom!
Okay, I don't mean on his head...the white flower is Diapensia, his favorite flower, it's an alpine flower and super tiny. And lookie, a sweater! Look fast before it's in pieces again...

It's Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well.......

Okay, so DH's sweater is DONE like a thanksgiving turkey! And when I say done I mean it has a front and back, two arms and a neck. And they are even all attached together at the right spots. It sure does look like a sweater! And he can put it on over his head, just like a real sweater!! And this is where the story gets a little sadder. Despite my anal-retentive-obsessive-compulsive-measuring-taped-repeated-checking, it is a bit...off. The sleeves look like nice sleeves...if I made a sweater for Fat Bastard. The body allows for some outward expansion, if he should ever decide to live off cheese puffs and beer. And fear not, if you would like to check out his belly button, you only need to ask him to point to where bird poop falls from. But the neck...ohhh, the neck...it fits perfectly. It is truely a thing of beauty!

So, I am doing some "adjusting". This may involve taking off and unknitting the top of the sleeves, then reknitting them. It may also involve using my sewing machine to take an inch or three out of the sides of the body. And it will certainly involve a rigorous blocking. It will NOT involve removing any part of the neck, cause goddammit, I got that part right and I'm not fussin' with it!

I will put up a before pic soon, so you can see it in all of it's beauty and shame. And then rejoice in the reconstruction!
